IMPORTANCE OF SELF-LOVE

💕BY SUVANKAR

Why is it so important to love yourself? There's been a lot of talk about self-love lately. Sounds great but what does it really mean? How do we love ourselves and why does it matter?

Loving yourself by definition means finding peace and comfort within yourself. Doing something that feeds us and gives us a break but a deep state of inner peace is building a kind of relationship with ourselves - a warm and welcoming way of being with ourselves. Loving yourself is not just how you treat yourself but how you see yourself. So when you think about self-love you can think about all the things you're going to do with yourself how you want to talk to yourself how you want to love and care for yourself. How do you want to see the reflection?

The following are examples of what self-love can look like in action.

  • Saying positive things to yourself
  • Forgiving yourself when you mess up
  • Meeting your own needs
  • Being assertive
  • Not letting others take advantage of or abuse you
  • Prioritizing your health and well-being
  • Spending time around people who support you and build you up (and avoiding people who don't)
  • Asking for help
  • Letting go of grudges or anger that holds you back
  • Recognizing your strengths
  • Valuing your feelings
  • Making healthy choices most of the time
  • Living in accordance with your values
  • Pursuing your interests and goals
  • Challenging yourself
  • Holding yourself accountable
  • Giving yourself healthy treats
  • Accepting your imperfections
  • Setting realistic expectations
  • Noticing your progress and effort

IMPORTANCE OF SELF-LOVE

Perfectionism is so common in today's society that we often set unrealistically high standards for ourselves. We ignore the fact that everyone is imperfect even those who should be perfect. It does not mean that you have too much pride in being with other people or that you have built a shell around yourself and shut yourself off from the world. In other words, you shouldn't feel like you have to avoid relationships just because you prefer to be alone. Having a pet for life can be fun but it's not a good idea. It means finding peace within yourself. Those who have not learned unconditional love have a hard time giving it to others. It requires acknowledging that many people suffer and sharing that suffering with others. Knowing this will help you realize that you have this ability instead of waiting for someone else to do it for you. The thing is the antidote to many stressful times in our lives. Maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself may seem difficult at this time but it can help you get through the tough times. It can be a useful ongoing link. People who love themselves experience less anxiety and depression. They also maintain a positive attitude that is essential for personal growth and mental health.

WHAT TO AVOID IN ORDER TO LOVE YOURSELF

♥ By Nayan Chourey 1. You have to be Perfect Perfect body, life, IQ… All of it. Perfection doesn’t exist and when you think it does on social media, it is often masking crippling mental health issues. You are never going to be perfect. But the good news is, you already are perfect, in your imperfection. 2. Meeting Society's Expectations It is our human nature to always be hungry for more, even if you hit that unrealistic standard, you will always be unhappy because you want more. Don’t compare yourself or your life to that unrealistic standard, it only leads to self-hate and depression 3. Controlling Everything The only thing you can control are things within your control and your reactions. Understand that you can’t control other people, their choices, and their behavior just like you can’t control the weather. Life isn’t about trying to control everything, it is about how you react to it. Instead of trying to control everything and everyone, do the best you can do
